Letter: Wall would not be effective

According to a conservative think tank, The Cato Institute, the Trump wall won’t work for the following reasons: historically, they are ineffective, people build tunnels and develop other ways to get past the wall. Nearly half of illegal immigrants are “overstayers,” meaning they entered legally with visas but never left. Pitts: Being good, but silent, isn’t really good at all

Our topic for today: three stories and a letter.
The stories all made recent headlines.

HP: 3D printers won’t make guns

PORTLAND — HP Inc. says it won’t allow people to use its 3D printers to manufacture guns, unless they are a licensed firearms manufacturer and are making guns that can be detected by airport security.
