Driver accused of dragging North Plains cop, running over his foot

PORTLAND — A driver who authorities say dragged a North Plains police officer about 10 feet and ran over the officer’s foot while fleeing a traffic stop last week along U.S. 26 was found and arrested Monday after another chase.
Washington County deputies responded to a home in Aloha around 1:40 p.m. to arrest William Callaway and were told sometime after arriving that he stole a relative’s wallet and ran from the house, the county sheriff’s office said.

 

High court lets military implement transgender restrictions

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court is allowing the Trump administration to go ahead with its plan to restrict military service by transgender people while court challenges continue.
