It's back to school for Jacksonville students with many changes awaiting them

More than 121,000 children and teens will start the school year in Duval County schools Monday, many of them attending newly created magnets or specialty schools.
Duval officials hope the newly reconstituted schools would increase enrollments and further diversify district schools.
Officially, parents and students could sign up for these schools until Aug. 1, but Superintendent Nikolai Vitti said Friday the district will continue accepting new applications to the schools beyond Monday.
