Robert Leder, 46, of Van Buskirk Avenue was charged with first-degree criminal mischief and was released after posting a $25,000 court appearance bond. According to Leder’s two-page arrest affidavit, police were notified in late September that ShopRite was finding dozens of badly damage shopping carts in a certain area of The Cove. According to the affidavit, Leder told the officer that he had been taking the carts for the past two and one-half weeks and damaging them because he was tired seeing them abandoned on his street.
