Car Thefts Reported In Brookfield, Redding

BROOKFIELD — Police are reminding resident not to leave valuables in their cars after a string of car thefts in the region during the past week. Major Jay Purcell, a spokesman for the police department, said several vehicle break ins occurred on Wednesday afternoon at the parking lot of the Regional YMCA of Western Connecticut. The cars were unlocked, police said, and items stolen included credit cards that were later used and Target and Best Buy in Meriden where the suspect purchased Play Station 4 consoles.
