Car Staked Out Near Home Leads To Fatal Shot

By Erin Beck CHARLESTON, W.Va. - A Wayne County man says he was acting in self-defense when he shot another man to death in the early-morning hours Tuesday, according to the county prosecutor.Wayne County Prosecuting Attorney Thomas Plymale said John Ferrell currently faces no charges in the killing of Cody Perry, but the investigation is not complete.Plymale said he doesn't know whether the two men knew each other, but he hasn't been given any indication there was "bad blood" between them.Overnight, Ferrell's wife called her husband to say she was worried about a "suspicious" vehicle at the end of the couple's driveway off of Shoals Branch Road in Wayne County, Plymale said.
