Can you carry over Metaphor: ReFantazio demo progress?

Even though the days of demos for most games have gone, there are a select few that choose to still have one today. Metaphor: ReFantazio is one of these, and lets you get accustomed to what the game is about before purchasing the full experience. If you’re one of the many that played through the demo, you’ll likely want to know if the progress you made carries over to the 1.0 version. The short answer to this is yes, Metaphor: ReFantazio demo progress does carry over to the full game. If you played on Xbox or downloaded via the Microsoft Store on PC, there is actually cross-save functionality meaning your demo progress should be shared between your console and PC, and you can pick up exactly where you left off. The caveat for PlayStation players though is that you must be playing the full launch on the same device that you played the demo on. So, if you have upgraded from the PS4 to the PS5 between playing the demo and the Metaphor: ReFantazio release date, you will have to play on the former to keep your save data. Once you boot up the game for the first time, you will be prompted at the main menu asking if you do want to carry over your previous demo save data. So, you can have the progress advantage if you want, or if you’d rather start from scratch you can do so also. While most are experiencing a smooth transition, some are having issues with this save data carrying over. This is mainly for PC or Steam Deck players and the fix appears to be changing the pathing for your previous save file.
