Campisi Family Gives Sizable Gift To Lakeland Regional Health Cancer Center

No one in Jean and Sal Campisi Sr.’s immediate family has had a cancer diagnosis but watching friends’ and in-laws’ travails and knowing about community need prompted them to channel a sizable donation to the Hollis Cancer Center expansion project. Lakeland Regional Health Foundation announced it has received a “significant” donation from the Campisi family and, as a result, will name the new chemotherapy area the Campisi Medical Oncology Suite and the new auditorium the Campisi Family Auditorium.

Hill intercepted a pass from Cooper Legas and returned it 16 yards for a touchdown to start the Owls off and running to their first conference win this season. Gemari Sands had a 22-yard touchdown run for a 21-2 lead.

Malzahn resigns as UCF coach, heading to FSU as coordinator

UCF coach Gus Malzahn has resigned after four seasons with the school. ESPN’s Pete Thamel was the first to report the move, with Malzahn leaving to take the offensive coordinator job at Florida State. Malzahn previously worked with FSU coach Mike Norvell during their time at Tulsa under then-coach Todd Graham from 2007-08.
