California Has Sales Tax Deal With Amazon

California legislators have decided to delay collecting sales tax for another year from online retailers, including Web retailing giant Amazon.com, while the latter group lobbies Congress to devise a national policy on the issue. Under an agreement announced Friday that is now on its way to the desk of Gov. Jerry Brown for his signature, sales tax collection will be put off until September 2012.
