Burn Treatment: Medical Advances Reduce Hospital Stays

The American Burn Association reports that during the 10-year period between 2000 to 2010, the average length of stay for in the hospital for both women and men burn patients declined roughly from 11 days to nine days. The mortality rate decreased, too -- from 4.5 percent to about 3 percent for males, and from 6.8 percent to 3.6 percent for females.
