As the veteran in Denver’s wide receiver room, Courtland Sutton is thrilled whenever one of the young guys gets the opportunity to spread their wings.
Rookie Devaughn Vele took off in the Broncos’ 38-6 win over the Falcons on Sunday. The former Utah standout built off a solid performance last week by recording four catches for 66 yards at Empower Field at Mile High.
Anonymity means success for an offensive lineman. When no one was around Alex Forsyth’s locker after the Broncos’ 38-6 rout of the Falcons, it signaled that the worst moment in his NFL career was finally behind him.
One week after getting knocked down as the Chiefs knocked out the Broncos with a blocked field goal, Forsyth had no issues in protection after moving outside to the tackle position, flip-flopping with Matt Peart.
“I just feel like we are really resilient and try not to let anything phase us as a team,” Forsyth told The Denver Post.

He set the tone in the first half, completing 17 of 19 passes for 192 yards and two touchdowns. But he wasn’t the only rookie that stood out.

Rookie quarterback Bo Nix was on a heater from the start Sunday afternoon. He threw touchdowns to Nate Adkins, Marvin Mims Jr. and Troy Franklin. He diced up the Falcons on third down and in general. He led a Denver offense that scored on five of its first seven possessions and barely broke stride.
