BRUNSWICK COUNTY – A woman who won a $188 million Powerball jackpot earlier this year was cited Thursday on charges of marijuana possession and her live-in boyfriend was arrested on a weapons charge a few months after being bailed out of jail, according to the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies found a “small amount” of marijuana at the Rutledge Community home shared by Marie Holmes, who won the lottery jackpot in February, and Lamarr McDow, who had been bailed out of Brunswick County Jail in February on a $3 million bond, said Emily Flax, spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office. McDow, identified by the sheriff’s office as a gang member, was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm after deputies found a gun during the search on Thursday.
