ASHBURN, Va. — Bruce Allen is the new general manager of the Washington Redskins. The son of legendary Redskins coach George Allen was hired Thursday morning, shortly after the team announced the resignation of executive vice president of football operations Vinny Cerrato. Bruce Allen has served as the GM with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and also worked in the Oakland Raiders front office. He becomes the first person hired by owner Dan Snyder to hold the title of general manager. Cerrato was widely criticized for his personnel moves.
