The Broward Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deputy-involved shooting near the Fort Lauderdale Tri-Rail station, officials say. Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue paramedics responded to a call from BSO about the shooting a little after 2:30 p.m., according to spokesperson Frank Guzman. They arrived on scene and pronounced a man dead. Guzman did not have any more details about the shooting or the man’s identity. A large number of deputies stood under the overpass of Interstate 95 and Broward Boulevard Saturday afternoon, investigating a roped off area just north of the Tri-Rail station. A spokesperson for the Broward Sheriff’s Office was not able to immediately provide information about the shooting late Saturday afternoon. This is a developing story, so check back for updates.
