Whether it was offense, defense, or special teams, Monarch senior Samari Reed rarely took a play off. When Monarch hosted Homestead in the Class 6A regional quarterfinal, Samari carried 17 times for 127 yards and two scores and added two receptions for 34 yards. On defense, he had two tackles, a 55-yard INT return, two passes defended and a quarterback hurry. For the year, Reed had a team-leading 18 touchdowns, 16 two-point conversions, a kick return for a TD and 1,384 all-purpose yards, and, on defense, he registered three interceptions, three fumble recoveries, 10 passes defended and 25 total tackles in leading the Knights to a 7-4 record.
