A Britney Spears Biopic Is In The Works

If you think about it, it’s surprising that Britney Spears hasn’t received the biopic treatment yet. Lifetime will finally satisfy that vacancy for us, The Hollywood Reporter wrote on Wednesday. The TV movie will be called Britney and it’s set to come out next year. Spears’ story is pretty much cemented in the pop culture canon at this point, and Britney will faithfully try to chronicle all of it: the early days as a Mouseketeer from Louisiana; her staggering leap to superstardom in the late 1990s; the personal crises of the mid-2000s — luridly reported by the American tabloid press — and, the redemption.
