FROM STAFF REPORTSNORMAN — Bridges, an agency that works with youths, is itself no longer a teenager. Since 1995, when a group of Norman High School counselors persuaded then-Mayor Bill Nations to form a task force to research services for homeless high school kids, Bridges has housed nearly 800 students in addition to providing access to medical and dental care, case management, trauma counseling, connection with a mentor, establishment of a savings account, college scholarships, food stamps, counseling, tutoring and job training. Bridges, formerly Independent Living Services for Youth, will celebrate its 20th anniversary with an open house from 5 to 7 p.m.Read more on NewsOK.com
