Blown Stop Sign Leads To Drug Charges In Stamford

STAMFORD-A stop sign violation led to a Stamford man on probation being charged with operating a drug factory after more than two ounces of marijuana was found in his car Thursday evening. Sgt. Robert Shawinsky said Lt. Diedrich Hohn was working a drunk driving detail when he saw a vehicle run a stop sign at Crystal Street and Prevail Road in Glenbrook. While walking up to the car, Hohn smelled the strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, Tyquan Hayes, 22, of Courtland Circle, appeared nervous and admitted that he did not have a driver’s license.
