In a previous article, I wrote: “Awesome Screenshot - Aptly named. It is awesome! Probably better than anything on Firefox. It’s my favorite Chrome app for taking screencaps. Features include cropping and annotation.”
That was in April. Apparently, “Awesome Screenshot” has been available on Firefox since March of 2011. I wonder why I couldn’t find it then. Maybe I did, but chose not to install it because it came with the Superfish spyware turned on automatically, which hijacks Amazon links with the developer’s affiliate links. Pretty much all of the negative reviews were regarding that.
Happy to find a Firefox version of it, I installed it anyway. I guess because of the negative feedback regarding Superfish, the developer has it disabled by default.
It’s identical to the Chrome version. Same look, same features. No spyware. I’m happy.
