You may have noticed that Wopular was down for most of Friday. The database crashed and one of the tables was corrupted. It just so happened that it was the most important one. It stored all of the headlines and teasers. Yeah, why did it had to be that table. I tried repairing it, which usually was't too bad, except this time, it was.

The table, nearing completion from the repair job, just disappeared. All 4GB of it. I'm responsible for my own backups with my ISP. My last backup was about a month and a half ago, so not all is lost. But still, that's is a long time in the news cycle. Luckily, when I migrated servers a couple weeks ago to a cheaper plan, my ISP still had that copy of the site. A couple weeks of lost work isn't bad. That's why some of the featured articles currently on the site are a couple weeks old. I didn't lose too much work - just Patrick Swayze, Annie Le, Joe Wilson, Serena, and Jaycee Dugard. Oh, and Kanye. That's about it.
