Bisd Audit Draft Turned Over To The Da

A thousand-plus page draft forensic audit of Beaumont ISD's 2007 bond issue has been delivered to the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office for consideration of possible criminal charges, according to the president of the district's board of managers. The accounting firm commissioned by the board of managers to conduct the forensic audit was looking at five or six major areas that could lead to several different drafts before a final one is sent to the district attorney, he said. Weaver representative Bill Brown, a former FBI agent, told the board last year the firm would create a detailed report outlining names, dates and times of any alleged fraud. The results of a similar forensic audit of Houston ISD released last month showed the district has spent $11.6 million in construction bond funds on salaries, cellphone The school district filed a lawsuit in July against its former auditor, CPA Gayle W.
