Birmingham's J Chris Newberg, 44, didn't exactly move to Beverly Hills, Calif., but he's within screaming distance, and from his Sunset Strip apartment in Hollywood he can walk across the street to the Laugh Factory and go to work.Sixteen years ago, Newberg started out working local comedy clubs in the Metro Detroit area, eventually making crowds laugh at Mark Ridley's Comedy Castle in Royal Oak on a consistent basis.
