A power outage left officers directing traffic at two major intersections in southwest Amarillo on Saturday. The outage cut power to traffic lights at Southwest 34th Avenue and South Soncy Road, as well the lights at South Coulter Street and Interstate 40. Power was restored as of 3 p.m., according to an Amarillo Police Department release. “We had about 2,800 customers affected,” Xcel spokesman Wes Reeves said.
