Most wine drinkers choose the wrong glass for their grape. Drinking from the wrong glass can have a massive impact on how wine tastes and smells. Matt Knight of glassware company Riedel says your average wine drinker needs four glasses — two whites, and two reds. The company also develops glasses for spirits like gin, beer, and even Cognac, as well as non-alcoholic drinks like tea and coffee. There are a lot of mistakes people make when they drink wine — but the main one is the shape of the glass they use.
