Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel and county Prosecutor Eric Smith are endorsing state Senator Steve Bieda for county Clerk and Register of Deeds.Bieda, D-Warren, is running in the August Democratic primary against five other candidates - -including former clerk general election candidate Fred Miller -- for the right to face the Republican primary winner in November for the election to fill the final two years of former Clerk Karen Spranger, who was ousted by a judge in March.
