Beaumont lawyer Audwin Samuel, who has had two months of trouble trying to relocate his law firm into Old Town, recently signed a lease for a single-family residence on McFaddin Avenue just off 11th Street, a place that has other commercial uses in the block. A commercial use, such as a law office, also requires a specific use permit, so an applicant would need to go through the Planning and Zoning Commission review and a City Council vote before a law office could open for business.
