When Cary Fukunaga and casting director Harrison Nesbit were looking for actors for BEASTS OF NO NATION, they were having trouble finding someone to fill the role of Agu, the boy who is forced to become a child soldier. The kids who came out to audition just didn't have it and so Fukunaga and Nesbit visited various schools in Ghana to find Agu themselves.
