The Michigan Battle of the Buildings contest saw a dramatic increase in energy savings among the 2015 competitors who collectively reduced their energy use over the past year. The entrants cut their energy use by 175 billion BTUs (British Thermal Units) and nearly 16,000 metric tons of CO2e (carbon dioxide equivalent) in greenhouse gas emissions (GHG), according to the contest sponsors..
