Stories Related to Bath Iron Works Awarded $49.8 Million Navy Contract

Bath Iron Works has been awarded a Navy contract that could be worth more than $300 million. The contract calls for the Bath shipbuilder to provide “lead yard services” for the DDG-51 – or Arleigh Burke-class – destroyers. Under the contract awarded Friday, as the lead yard BIW will provide design and technical assistance for the destroyers, regardless of where they are built. The contract is for $49.8 million the first year and calls for four option years.
