The city of St. Augustine has chosen one of its own to replace Police Chief Loran Lueders when he retires at the end of the November. City Manager John Regan has appointed Cmdr. Barry Fox as assistant chief. It’s a position Fox will hold until he assumes the lead role after Lueders’ retirement, the city announced in a news release Tuesday. The appointment, which is effective immediately, will “ensure a smooth transition over the next eight months,” the release said. read more
