A Burkeville bank employee was hospitalized Wednesday evening after the Sabine State Bank was robbed. The Newton County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call reporting a robbery and injury around 5:30 p.m. and responded to the scene, police said. The bank employee was taken to a local hospital by first responders, Newton Sheriff Eddie Shannon said. Police will release more details pending involvement by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
