According to a study by the the Highway Loss Data Institute, the average claim rate per 1,000 vehicles surveyed in the U.S. is 2.9. The area the survey refers to as Miami- Fort Lauderdale- Miami Beach, with 4.8, is the only metro area in Florida that ranks above the national average, and it's eighth on the 10-worst list in the U.S.
