DAYTONA BEACH - Jeff Atwater, Florida's chief financial officer, will offer his thoughts on the state of the economy as the keynote speaker of a Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce luncheon on Aug. 6The event - 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Plaza Resort & Spa, 600 N. Seabreeze Ave., Daytona Beach - is part of the chamber's Tallahassee Speaker Series.Atwater oversees the state Department of Financial Services which regulates insurance and banking.He is also expected to discuss what his department is doing to crack down on insurance fraud as well as keep the state's computer systems secure, according to a news release from the chamber.The cost to attend, which includes lunch, for chamber members is $20 for those who make a reservation at least 24 hours before the event, and $25 at the door.
