While hundreds protested outside, lawyers representing more than 100 Iraqis slated for deportation were in court asking a federal judge in Detroit to hold off until their cases can be resolved in immigration court.Attorneys Margo Schlanger and Lee Gelernt asked U.S. District Judge Mark Goldsmith to issue a temporary restraining order to stay the deportations of an estimated 114 to 120 Detroit-area Iraqis who were rounded up 10 days earlier because they have prior removal orders.
