HOOD JACKSON (AP) – The Mississippi attorney general says he hopes cooler heads will prevail and the Legislature will pass a budget for his office. Lawmakers finished their regular session last week without funding the attorney general’s office or the Department of Transportation. Republican Gov. Phil Bryant will have to call a special session to set those budgets before the fiscal year begins July 1. Attorney General Jim Hood says he hopes Bryant will call a session just for the funding bills.
