Derek Russell Daily Journal TUPELO – Man’s best friend can be found alongside man’s greatest works at the Elvis Presley Birthplace and Museum this week for the annual signature fundraiser for the Tupelo-Lee Humane Society. The 9th annual Art for Animals event is set for Thursday at 6 p.m. and will feature a silent auction as well as live paintings from artists Carolyn Watson and Karen Barclay. “It’s one of our larger fundraisers and our goal is to get closer to building our new shelter,” said humane society board member Martha Dale.
