A Coral Springs Charter School student was arrested Tuesday after allegedly making a threat on Snapchat that she would “shoot up” the school, police said. Rachell Varela Gomez, 18, is facing one count of written threats to kill or do bodily injury, a second-degree felony. She was arrested while still on the school’s campus Tuesday, a probable cause affidavit said. An FBI research specialist contacted Coral Springs Police shortly before 1 p.m.

In the aftermath of two recent crashes that killed Road Rangers on the side of Florida’s highways, state officials are again urging drivers to follow the state’s “Move Over” law, which requires them to move one lane over or slow down when passing a first responder or disabled vehicle.
