Search for Are You A Cellphone Addict? on Bing

When people can't get through dinner without responding to their phone's pings, or they so restlessly check their Facebook and Twitter feeds that they walk blindly into traffic -- it may be a sign that the white-knuckled grip people have on their cellphones is actually the cellphones' grip on them.

  • "Call me through/at/on this number"
Through is only really used combined with "reach me" - so "you can reach me through 0800999999". Not as common in the UK, and it implied that someone else will aswer, but can pass on a message. It would not imply that you could necessarily speak to the person - hence the "reach me" rather than "call me". Share.

  • "Call on" or "call at" or something else? Which is appropriate?
On is the only acceptable preposition here; "call me at my cell" (or in, to, with, etc.) is wrong.. However, if you are specifying the number, you can use at: You can reach me at (555) 555-5555.
