Apartment Fire Leaves Tulsa Woman In Critical Condition

TULSA — A discarded cigarette in an apartment bedroom trash can caused a fire that critically injured a woman, a fire department spokesman said. Capt. Michael Baker didn’t know the woman’s name, but she’s in her 40s. She suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to a Tulsa hospital. The woman’s cat in the apartment died from smoke inhalation. Firefighters saw smoke coming from near a first-floor unit when they arrived about 4:30 a.m.
