One of my top shows of 2024 actually premiered in 2021. That’s because it took a couple of years for the Australian series “The Newsreader” to make its way Stateside. Alas, it was only legal to stream in the U. S. for a handful of weeks in September and then — pffft!
State Rep. Joel Rudman, R-Navarre, on Monday filed a bill that would allow Floridians to openly carry firearms, though Senate President Ben Albritton, R-Wauchula, has expressed opposition to the idea.

MIAMI GARDENS — The worst-case scenario was avoided for the Miami Dolphins regarding veteran left tackle Terron Armstead’s ailing knee.
After he tried to give it a go but couldn’t in Sunday’s 32-26 overtime win over the New York Jets, it’s not a long-term injury that will require surgery for the five-time Pro Bowl selection.

The rest needed likely puts Armstead’s status in doubt for Sunday’s critical game against the Houston Texans (8-5), as Miami (6-7) looks to pull back to .500 and keep its playoff hopes afloat.
“We’ll let it cool down a little bit,” McDaniel continued, “and what that means for time moving forward, I’m going to make sure that my communication is steadfast with him.

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — President Joe Biden designated a national monument at a former Native American boarding school in Pennsylvania on Monday to honor the resilience of Indigenous tribes whose children were forced to attend the school and hundreds of similar abusive institutions.
The White House announced the creation of the Carlisle Federal Indian Boarding School National Monument as Biden hosted a summit of tribal leaders.
More than 10,000 children passed through the notorious Carlisle Indian Industrial School by the time it closed in 1918, including Olympian Jim Thorpe.

Dieticians and food experts say winter is a great time to experiment with your food, try out underappreciated seasonal produce and cook a healthy meal for loved ones.
“Embrace the cold, embrace the winter and appreciate the bounty,” said Kristen Rasmussen, a culinary dietician and chef who teaches at the University of California Berkeley.
Here are tips from nutrition experts on how to “winterize” your meals.
