Am Capitol Alert: In The Running

Californians might not have a positive view of how the government is run and where the state is heading, but that doesn't mean they don't want to get their hands into the political sausage-making. With 67 days remaining until the statewide primary, Secretary of State Debra Bowen released last night the certified list of candidates whose names will appear on the ballot June 8. The list, which you can see here, features more than 650 office-holder hopefuls, including 23 candidates for governor, 14 candidates for attorney general and 12 candidates in the nonpartisan superintendent of public instruction race.
