MADISON, Wis. — Former NFL head coach Jack Del Rio was arrested by Madison police for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and will step down from his role on Wisconsin’s coaching staff, coach Luke Fickell announced Monday. Del Rio — the former head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Oakland Raiders, and defensive coordinator and interim head coach for the Broncos — had joined Wisconsin’s staff in August as a senior adviser to Fickell. Madison police said Del Rio was arrested early Friday for a first-offense OWI after a vehicle hit a stop sign and broke a fence before resting in a yard.

Thanks to a series of storms that have been generous to most of the Colorado high country this month, most ski resorts have received well above normal snowfall so far this season. In fact, Steamboat is the only resort with below-average snowfall, sitting at 86% of normal, according to figures curated by the OpenSnow forecasting and reporting service.

After guiding Colorado to a come-from-behind victory at Texas Tech on Saturday, quarterback Shedeur Sanders has been honored by the Big 12 Conference. On Monday, Sanders was named the Big 12 offensive player of the week after throwing for 293 yards and three touchdowns and rushing for a score in CU’s 41-27 win at Texas Tech.
