Students at Ohio University petitioned the school to have Roger Ailes’ name removed from the newsroom at Ohio University’s Radio-Television Communications Building. The petition called him a “national symbol of sexual abuse” and demanded the university cut ties with the disgraced former Fox News chairman. The Undergraduate Student Senate and the Graduate Student Senate agreed, passing a resolution calling for his name to be removed. Yesterday the faculty agreed and just like that, the Roger Ailes Newsroom signage was scraped off the wall. McDavis gave no exact date for its removal, but the letters of Ailes' name were taken down before the meeting ended, and a wooden board was placed over the space soon after. “The distraction from the teaching of the Scripps College of Communication has weighed heavily on my mind as I deliberated over the sustained effect on our university community should we continue to have our newsroom named for Mr.
