ALGONQUIN – Algonquin Founders’ Days organizers will hold a River Relief Benefit to raise money for those affected by the Fox River flood. The benefit will be a trimmed-down version of the original event, which was canceled for the first time in 57 years in July due to record flooding, according to a message posted Monday on the group’s Facebook page. “We’ve tried to find a way to still hold our Festival but add a charitable aspect to it in light of recent events,” Michael Wasz, Algonquin Founders’ Days social media chairperson, said in a statement.
