Air New Zealand Posts Record Profit But Warns Of Competition

WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) — New Zealand's national airline on Friday posted a record profit thanks to surging tourism and lower fuel costs, but warned it expected increased competition from rival international carriers in the year ahead. Air New Zealand Chief Executive Christopher Luxon said in a statement that competition is increasing because tourism to the South Pacific nation remains strong and lower fuel costs make the country a more viable destination for rivals.
