Aids Program Biggest Cut To Stamford’s Budget

STAMFORD — The Board of Finance has cut AIDS/HIV testing and outreach from the city’s budget, arguing that nearly $500,000 is too much to spend on a program that diagnosed the disease last year in only three people. Board members, who unanimously approved the cut, argued the program is poorly run and has failed to reach at-risk communities — of the three people diagnosed, two were already identified by Norwalk’s outreach program.
