Active Duty Military Get Free Rides On City Buses Through May In Colorado Springs

Active duty members will ride "fixed-route city buses" for free in Colorado Springs through May in honor of National Military Appreciation Month, the city announced Friday. Soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines need only present the bus driver with a current military ID or be in uniform as they board to take advantage of the free ride provided by Mountain Metropolitan Transit. The service provides routes within Colorado Springs, as well as into Manitou Springs, north to the Chapel Hills Mall and south into the Security-Widefield area. "Mountain Metro acknowledges the bravery, sacrifice and commitment of our local armed forces personnel," the city said.
