Mark Weiser; July 23, 1952 - April 27, 1999, computer scientist, former chief technology officer at Xerox PARC, created (or discovered) and named the related ideas of Ubiquitous Computing, and Calm Technology. He studied Computer and Communication Science at University of Michigan, got an M.A. in 1977, a Ph.D. in 1979, then taught computer science at University of Maryland, College Park, for 12 years.
