"I had no way of knowing when I started," says the creator and executive producer of Survivor, The Apprentice and many other competition-based reality shows, "that it would spawn an entire industry." It all began in the 1990s when Burnett, a British paratrooper-turned-Hollywood-nanny-turned-millionaire entrepreneur, was craving more action in his life.
