Mary Beth Mize is focused on Friday with a Christmas-like excitement. Her anticipation is centered on the first-ever Lancaster County Special Olympics, scheduled for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday at Springdale Park in Lancaster. “I’m excited,” said Mize, a special education teacher at Buford Middle School, who is helping coordinate the event for special-needs students ages 4 to 21 from across the county.
